Die NAKO Gesundheitsstudie
Between 2014 and 2018, the German National Cohort (NAKO) recruited men and women aged between 20 and 69 to 18 study centers throughout Germany. The baseline examination with about 205,000 participants was finished in 2018. The first follow-up examination started in fall 2018. The participants are medically examined and questioned about their behavioural factors and living conditions. The aim of NAKO is to investigate the causes of chronic diseases, such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, infectious diseases, or dementia in order to improve prevention, early diagnoses and treatment of these very widely spread diseases.
The supplemental COVID-19 survey conducted among all NAKO participants is implemented as part of the NAKO health study (NAKO) in order to gain evidence about the spread, course, and consequences of COVID-19 in Germany. To receive the instrument please refer to the contact person of NAKO.
