All NAKO participants were invited to participate in the supplemental COVID-19 survey, which was implemented as part of the NAKO study programme in order to gain evidence about the spread, course, and consequences of COVID-19 in Germany. The questionnaire comprises 42 questions mainly derived from validated instruments. It consists of epidemiological questions on health status and infection status, and also covers the psychosocial impact of the pandemic situation including possible changes in employment, lifestyle and social life, and possible psychological changes. The questions are formulated in such a way that the data collected can be directly related to the data collected in the NAKO before the COVID-19 pandemic. First results were already published (Dtsch Arztebl Int 2020; 117: 861-7; DOI: 10.3238/arztebl.2020.0861).
